Senior Technician (CIJ Printers)

Introduction

The Senior Technician is responsible for ensuring that all equipment and machines are installed and properly maintained in line with the client’s requirements and needs and ensuring that all users and Technicians are effectively trained to use the machinery and equipment correctly and safely. 


Duties & Responsibilities

TECHNICAL MAINTENANCE AND INSTALLATION

  • Servicing of all equipment and machinery within the J-Pak range of products;
  • Installing all new equipment ordered by clients and within the J-Pak range of products;
  • Doing courtesy calls on clients to assess their level of satisfaction with the J-Pak service, whether all machines are functioning properly and any possible new needs;
  • Performing all installations in accordance to the times permitted in the installation schedules;
  • Receiving service requests from Branch Co-ordinators and responding to these promptly;
  • Completing service requests and documentation, upon the completion of the service request, and handing these to the Branch Co-ordinators for invoicing purposes;
  • Updating the Branch Co-ordinators on their whereabouts using the WhatsApp group;
  • From time to time, cleaning the workshop when the technician is not involved in any client facing, external work;
  • Ensuring that all overtime work required to complete a client service request is properly quoted on and authorized by the client to expedite the invoicing process;

TECHNICAL TRAINING OF KEY USERS

  • Training all key users on any new equipment and machinery which has been installed;
  • Completing all training lists of users who have been trained;
  • Assessing users who have been trained to ensure that they have mastered the content;
  • Identifying any areas where as a result of user error further training may be required;

COMMUNICATION

  • Ensure that the client is always informed of the situation on the call out and that the Branch Manager or Administrator is also informed in order to action any alternative arrangements

AFTER SALES AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Performing courtesy client visits with a view to assessing opportunities for new equipment sales, consumables, spares, calibrations and possible trade ins;
  • Passing new capital equipment opportunities to the appropriate Solution Specialist;
  • Delivering a monthly after sales target so as to achieve the monthly service budget;

Desired Experience & Qualification

MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS

  • Grade 12;
  • A technical qualification or certificate in electrical or electronic engineering;
  • A minimum of 4 years experience in an installation and machine/equipment maintenance environment

R20k – R30k
